[Journalism Award] THE PAUL FOOT AWARD 2006 for investigative and campaigning journalism

Private Eye and The Guardian are delighted to announce:

THE PAUL FOOT AWARD 2006

For the second year running Private Eye and The Guardian are awarding a prize for investigative and campaigning journalism in Paul Foot’s memory.

Submissions will be accepted for material that has been published in a newspaper, magazine or on a website between 1st September 2005 and August 31st 2006. No broadcast material is eligible.

Individual journalists, teams of journalists or entire publications may enter and entries will be considered for anything from single pieces to entire campaigns.

Please submit copies of all relevant cuttings with a covering letter of no more than two A4 pages.

Application forms can be downloaded here and should be sent together with 2 copies of your submission by post only to:

The closing date for entries is 1st September 2006.

Please do not send in original work as anything submitted is non-returnable and will not be formally acknowledged.

There will be an overall prize of £5000 and five runners up will also be awarded £1000, at a ceremony to be held in London on 17th October 2006.

Details of the short-listed entries will be published on this website in early October.

The Judges decision is final.
